The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) processing computers are located behind a secure firewall. Additionally, KOHS processing computers and the various online services are scanned regularly by internal security groups as well as a third party security assessor.
Security Tips
- Never put your credit card number or other sensitive personal information in unencrypted e-mail, or instant messaging services.
- Before you enter your sensitive information into any website make sure the browser connection is secure by verifying that the URL contains https://. Additionally, some browsers may also signify a secure connection with a lock symbol typically located in the bottom right corner of the browser window.
- Make sure you are not using an old web browser.
- Keep your web browser up to date by installing security patches or upgrading to a new version when they are made available.
